[4] John Parkes was a partner in the firm of Graham and Parkes, Chronometer Makers and Opticians, 43 Canning Place, Liverpool until 24 October 1890 when the partnership was dissolved and John Parkes took over the business. The other partner was William Edward Auld Graham.
